After finally bringing the curtain down on his portrayal of Wolverine in the recent superhero blockbuster Logan, Hugh Jackman is stepping back into the musical genre for his next big-screen outing.
The X-Men and Les Miserables star tackles the magic of the circus in his new film The Greatest Showman which features music from the songwriters of this year’s multi-Oscar winning musical La La Land.
A new official trailer has premiered online and can be seen below.
Helmed by rookie director Michael Gracey, the film sees Jackman play P.T Barnum, the real-life visionary who helped create the world of show-business with the help of various people including his business partner, his talented performers and his loving family.
No stranger to big-screen musicals, Zac Efron (High School Musical trilogy, Baywatch) co-stars as Barnum’s business partner with additional acting support coming from Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn, Manchester by the Sea), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation, The Girl on the Train), Paul Sparks (Boardwalk Empire, House of Cards) and singer-turned-actress Zendaya (Shake it Up! Spider-Man: Homecoming).
The Greatest Showman will be released in the UK on Boxing Day.
