Jeremy Irvine is the privileged Pip in official trailer for Great Expectations

Charles Dickens’s classic novel Great Expectations has been well-renowned for generations with many TV dramas and films being made about it. But having been made into a BBC drama earlier this year, the novel has now had another retelling made for the big screen.

Mike Newell’s film adaptation of the story unveiled its official trailer earlier today with a host of Harry Potter actors appearing in it.

Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) stars as the titular character Pip with Helena Bonham Carter (Harry Potter, The King’s Speech) playing the disturbed Miss Havisham and Ralph Fiennes (Schindler’s List, Harry Potter) playing the escaped criminal Magwitch.

The rest of the solid support cast include Holliday Granger (The Borgias), Robbie Coltrane (Cracker, Harry Potter) and Sally Hawkins (Happy-Go-Lucky, Made in Dagenham).

It will be released in UK cinemas on November 30th.
