Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke features in official trailer for Stone Roses film Spike Island

While she has become widely known to us as Daenerys Targaryen, Queen of Dragons, in the widely-acclaimed HBO series Game of Thrones, British beauty Emilia Clarke has managed to find time to appear in a small but local film which will please fans of the Stone Roses.

Directed by Matt Whitecross (Sex & Drugs & Rock % Roll) and written by Chris Coghill (24 Hour Party People, Eastenders), the nostalgic project has finally released its first trailer.

Set in 1990, the film focuses on a group of teenage friends from Manchester as they travel to Widnes to watch the Stone Roses perform their legendary gig. Their time at the event sees their friendship tested as their future destinies are determined over the course of 72 hours.

Elliot Tittensor (Shameless), Nico Mirallegro (Hollyoaks, The Village), Jordan Murphy (My Big Fat Diary), Adam Long (Waterloo Road) and Oliver Heald (Shameless) star as the five friends with Emilia playing a love interest to Tittensor’s character who is aptly named ‘Tits’.

Other experienced support comes from Lesley Manville (The Firm, Another Year) and Philip Jackson (Mike Bassett: England Manager, My Week with Marilyn).

The film has already been screened at last year’s London Film Festival to mixed reviews but will be released properly on June 21st.

This writer must point out that he was close to being an extra in this film only to never receive a reply back from the casting agency….probably the only chance I could have had to be on the same set as that gorgeous woman!
