Dev Patel and Armie Hammer get caught up in the Mumbai bombings in Hotel Mumbai trailer

On November 26th 2008, India was rocked by a series of terrorist attacks which lasted four days and led to 174 deaths.

The terrifying event is now the subject of an upcoming film which centres on those caught up in the tragedy at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

BAFTA-winning actor Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire, Lion) and Armie Hammer (The Social Network, Call Me By Your Name) are the high-profile names of Hotel Mumbai which has premiered a full-length trailer.

Directed by Anthony Maras (Spiked Up, The Palace), the plot centres on Taj Mahal Palace Hotel employee Arjun (Patel) as he and his colleagues battle to survive the Mumbai attacks whilst also protecting their many guests.

The rest of the cast includes Jason Isaacs (The Death of Stalin, Star Trek: Discovery), Nazanin Boniadi (Homeland, Ben-Hur) and Tilda Cobham-Hervey (The Kettering Incident, Things I Know To Be True).

No UK release date has been given for the film though it is expected to be out in the US on March 29th.
