One of the biggest film franchises of all-time is set for its 25th film as heroic spy James Bond prepares to make a return to the big-screen.

With Daniel Craig tackling the role of 007 for a fifth (and possibly final) time, it has now been confirmed that one of Britain’s finest directors is set to work on the upcoming outing.

Via the official James Bond twitter account, they have tweeted that Oscar-winning filmmaker Danny Boyle will definitely be helming the anticipated spy flick.

Boyle, whose previous credits include Trainspotting (1996), Slumdog Millionaire (2008), 127 Hours (2010) and Steve Jobs (2015), had previously revealed that he would helm Bond 25 but only when he had concluded making a new film with renowned screenwriter Richard Curtis.

“We are working on a script right now. And it all depends on that really. I am working on a Richard Curtis script at the moment. We hope to start shooting that in 6 or 7 weeks. Then Bond would be right at the end of the year. But we are working on them both right now.”

As previously rumoured, Trainspotting writer John Hodge will work with Boyle again as he pens an original screenplay that is sure to intrigue fans.

The 25th Bond film will begin shooting in December with a current release date scheduled for late next year.
