Bumbling detective Liam Neeson looks to follow in his father’s footsteps in new trailer for The Naked Gun

A riotous new trailer has landed for The Naked Gun reboot.

The upcoming action comedy serves as a legacy sequel to the popular Naked Gun franchise (1988-94), which starred the late, great Leslie Nielsen as comical yet devoted detective Frank Drebin.

Directed by Akiva Schaffer (The Watch, Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers) and produced by Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, Ted series), the plot follows Drebin’s son Frank Jr. as he sets out to solve a murder case in order to protect his beloved Police Squad from closure.

No stranger to action roles, Liam Neeson (Schindler’s List, Taken trilogy) steps into the daunting shoes of Frank Jr. while comeback queen Pamela Anderson (Baywatch, The Last Showgirl) co-stars as his love interest Beth.

Additionally, the rest of the film’s cast includes Paul Walter Hauser (Cruella, Black Bird), CCH Pounder (The Shield, Avatar), Kevin Durand (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes), Cody Rhodes (Arrow), Liza Koshy (Players, A Family Affair), Eddie Yu (Law & Order: Organized Crime, The Pitt), and Danny Huston (The Constant Gardener, Yellowstone).

The Naked Gun will arrive in UK cinemas on 1 August. Now, let’s grab a bite to eat…
