Ashton Kutcher portrays Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in official trailer for Jobs

Almost two years since his tragic death from cancer, innovator Steve Jobs has become the latest world icon to be immortalised onto the big-screen albeit through an unlikely casting choice.

Despite being regarded as one of Hollywood’s poorest actors, Ashton Kutcher (That 70s Show, Two and a Half Men) has been assigned with the important role of the late Apple co-founder in the upcoming biopic Jobs. The film unveiled its first trailer late last night.

Directed by Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote), the film focuses on Job’s illustrious life from 1971 to 2001 and charts his involvement with Apple.

Kutcher is supported well by Josh Gad (The Rocker, Love & Other Drugs), Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding, The Grey), Lukas Haas (Witness, Brick), Amanda Crew (Sex Drive, Charlie St Cloud), J.K Simmons (Spiderman trilogy, Juno), Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket, The Dark Knight Rises) and James Woods (Videodome, Once Upon a Time in America).

The film is due out in the US on August 16th but no UK release date has been confirmed.
