Andrew Garfield hoping to star in Amazing Spider-Man sequel

So far Spider-Man is about to web-sling his way back onto our screens with the upcoming reboot The Amazing Spider-Man but already the new man donning the mask has revealed his hopefulness of doing a sequel.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, lead star Andrew Garfield admitted that he was unsure about whether director Marc Webb would return to helm the follow-up but said he would have no hesitation of coming back himself.

“If we do one, I hope I can do it – I hope they’d let me do it. I hope so. I think we want to get this one out. They already have a release date for the second one, but no script! So we have our priorities in order.”

Though the film hasn’t been released here just yet, the planned sequel is being discussed with Star Trek writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci already on board with the film due out in 2014.

In the meantime, audiences can judge what they think of the new-look Spidey when The Amazing Spider-Man reaches cinemas next week!
