Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves return as time-travelling slackers Bill and Ted in Bill & Ted Face the Music trailer

What’s up dudes?!

As the world continues to battle through Covid-19, two best buddies are set to make their big-screen comeback after nearly thirty years.

Would-be rockers Bill S. Preston and Ted ‘Theodore’ Logan are back for a new big-screen outing with original stars Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves reprising their iconic roles.

Entitled Bill & Ted Face the Music, the third film in the sci-fi comedy series has premiered a new trailer which features plenty of music, time-travel and of course, ‘awesomeness;’.

Directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest, RED 2), the plot sees Bill and Ted find themselves as middle-aged dads with a daughter each. However, the pair then meet a visitor from the future who tells them that one of their songs can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe.

As well as Winter and Reeves, the threequel also welcomes back other original cast members including William Sadler (as Death), Hal Landon Jr. (as Captain Logan) and Amy Stoch (as Missy). Additionally, the roles of Princess Joanna and Princess Elizabeth have been recast with Jayma Mays (Heroes, Glee) and Errin Hayes (Childrens Hospital, The Watch) involved this time around.

Furthermore, Samara Weaving (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Hollywood) and Brigette Lundy-Paine (Atypical, Bombshell) feature as Thea Preston and Billy Logan with Kristen Schaal (Bob’s Burgers, Bojack Horseman) and Holland Taylor (Legally Blonde, Hollywood) also onboard.

Bill & Ted Face the Music is still scheduled for release in America on 1 September but is also set to land on the streaming service VOD. A UK release date is still to be confirmed.
