A new journey begins for the Star Wars saga in teaser trailer for The Force Awakens

37 years ago, audiences were left intrigued by the arrival of a new sci-blockbuster film which would go on to change millions of lives forever. The universal success of George Lucas’s Star Wars created a cultural phenomenon that ultimately brought about two brilliant sequels and a trilogy of origin films.

But the legacy is now set to continue with a seventh installment that is being helmed by a new director who has had plenty of experience with making films of the sci-fi nature before. As well as that, the new story features a new-look cast who will be joining forces with the original trilogy’s actors.

After months and months of impatient waiting, the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been released online.

Directed by the renowned filmmaker J.J Abrams (Super 8, Star Trek into Darkness), the film’s plot still remains a top secret but the narrative will be set thirty years after the events of Return of the Jedi.

Original actors Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Harrison Ford (Han Solo) return for the new adventure with John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong’o and Max Von Sydow all making their debuts in the Star Wars franchise.

The 90 second preview features glimpses of Boyega, Ridley and Isaac as well as the return of the Millennium Falcon as it does battle with some Tie Fighters on Tattooine, a mysterious new planet.
