A group of PTSD soldiers come up against the Predator in official trailer for The Predator

When a lot of people think about Predator, they tend to associate it with the sinister alien hunter and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s kick-ass quotes (“Get to ze Chopper!)”.

But over thirty years after the original film’s release, a new outing has been made and is finally set to hit cinemas this year after previously being hit by a number of production issues.

Following the release of a teaser last month, the official trailer for The Predator is available to watch below:

Helmed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3), the plot follows on from the events of Predator 2 (1990) as a group of lethal alien hunters return to Earth and proceed to cause havoc. It is left up to a team of PTSD soldiers and a science teacher to try and stop them before mankind is wiped out.

Despite the absence of Schwarzenegger in this outing, the sequel does feature a talented cast which includes Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, Logan), Olivia Munn (The Newsroom, X-Men: Apocalypse), Jacob Tremblay (Room, Wonder), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight, 12 Strong), Sterling K. Brown (The People vs. O.J. Simpson, This is Us), Alfie Allen (John Wick, Game of Thrones), Thomas Jane (The Punisher, The Expanse) and Edward James Olmos (Blade Runner, Stand and Deliver).

The Predator will be released in the UK on September 14th.
